How-to: Homemade face brightening mask

With insanely cold weather comes the possibility of flaky, dull, dry skin. If you’re less than impressed by your complexion when you look in the mirror, you don’t have to bury your face and wait for spring, there are some things you can do about it.

While there are some very good brightening products out there, they can be a pit pricey, and a lot of times there’s no way to tell what exactly is in those creams and gels you’re putting on your face. This face mask is easy, inexpensive, and you probably have all the ingredients already in your refrigerator.

Here’s what you’ll need:
2 Tb plain yogurt
2 Tb honey
1 Tb lemon juice

To make the mask, simply put all the ingredients together in a bowl and mix together, then apply to a dry, clean face. This mask should feel light and refreshing.

Leave the mask on for 20 minutes then rinse off, your skin will look brighter and feel softer and smoother. The lactic acid in the yogurt exfoliates the dead layers of skin on your face, leaving smooth, new skin underneath. The lemon juice brightens while the honey soothes and softens.
