Of course all of you know, or are familiar with, Sakura, or Cherry Blossom trees, planted by the Hocking River. These trees are one of the many iconic characteristics of Ohio University’s Athens campus. However, these trees, donated by Ohio University’s Japanese sister campus, Chubu University, are not the only cherry blossom trees on the Athens campus.
